MAGIC FULL MOON by hair-stylist Monica Perez Navarro for ALUMAH Collection | Interview

My name is Monica Perez Navarro, I’m a hair stylist with 22 years of experience. I have studied styling, cutting, color and trend in the best hairdressing schools in Madrid, Barcelona and London.
I consider myself a positive, creative, humble, sociable person and as a good “Pisces” , I’m emotional, intuitive and an eternal dreamer.
I live between Spain, United States and Mexico and in Mexico I met Laura Ruiz, friend and professional makeup artist. I have had the pleasure of working on different projects with her; here in this fashion editorial, with model Adriana Carolina Figueredo, photographed by Gianmarco Boccaccio.

Laura Ruiz and I wanted to do a fantasy look for this session, so I was inspired by the full moon of March 7th, that day 42 years ago I was born.
I used different blues for the hair that for me represent the colors of the sea. Yellow is my favorite color, that’s why I chose the laces in that color, bright yellow like sunlight. And also one of the trendy colors of this season.

At LaModaChannel we like to talk about fashion designers, how would you define your experience working with the ALUMAH collection brand?

I have worked several times with ALUMAH collection and I’m very satisfied with the result, as it is a brand all handmade, of very good quality and finishes, and with organic materials.

What is the secret to creating trends?

Observing society, what is being lived at that moment and the thoughts of different groups are some of the things that set the trend.

For you, what will be the haircuts and colors that will set the trend in terms of hair for women, daring and travelers for this summer 2024?

I think it is a woman who is looking for freshness, daring things, but that she can fix it comfortably.
Always thinking about the trend of the moment, I pay a lot of attention to the features of the face and the natural texture of the hair of each client to make the cut. And for the color first I have to be very clear about which sections or partitions I want to color, and thus get the light or depth I want to get in the final style.
