We had the pleasure of meeting designer Tadashi Shoji during New York Fashion Week, where he unveiled his latest vision for Spring/Summer 2026. A collection that transports the audience into a world where nature, history, and spirituality intertwine—mystical, graceful, and alive with movement.
“Glowing in the golden light of ancient temples and perfumed with the scent of tropical blooms”
— this is how Shoji describes a season that flows like wind through bamboo groves, with gowns drifting effortlessly, evoking reverence and serenity. Inspired by the enduring beauty of Thailand’s culture, each piece reflects a perfect harmony between historical homage and modern refinement.

At the heart of the collection is the lotus:
a sacred bloom symbolizing purity and resilience. It unfolds in painterly chiffon prints and flourishes in delicate embroidered tulles. Metallic jacquards shimmer like temple rooftops at sunset, while corded lace and embroidery echo sacred carvings. The palette—antique pink, vibrant magenta, sea green, royal blue, and majestic gold—mirrors the splendor of Siam’s temples and landscapes. Every gown glides like a tropical breeze, radiant and full of life.

Yet beyond the aesthetics, Tadashi Shoji remains true to the essence of his brand: every woman, regardless of size or shape, deserves to feel confident, comfortable, and beautiful.
With masterful draping, ruching, and shutter pleats, his garments embrace the female figure with precision, striking a balance between sophistication and ease. His carefully chosen fabrics—stretch jersey, embroidered lace, featherweight tulle—offer the feeling of a custom fit, making each piece as effortless as slipping into a favorite T-shirt.

Since launching his namesake label in 1982, Shoji has pioneered a vision of accessible glamour:
couture-level craftsmanship combined with wearability, opening the doors of luxury to women around the world. Today, the brand is carried in more than 700 department and specialty stores worldwide, with signature boutiques in the United States, China, and the Middle East.

With his Spring/Summer 2026 collection:
Tadashi Shoji not only invites us to wander through golden temples and lush tropical landscapes, but also to experience fashion as a reflection of inner strength and timeless grace. A collection where every gown becomes a step through memory, beauty, and the quiet shimmer of a dream.
It comes as no surprise that global icons such as Michelle Obama, Octavia Spencer, Demi Lovato, Miranda Kerr, and Kate Hudson have chosen Tadashi Shoji’s creations for their most memorable moments. His philosophy transcends fashion—it is about celebrating beauty in all its forms, empowering women to feel confident in their own skin.
