LaModaChannel Joins Sustainable Fashion Fest as Official Media Partner in Madrid

21 Runway Shows, Live Upcycling, Digital Fashion & a New Generation of Designers Take Over Madrid This November

Madrid, October 2026 — Fashion is changing. The way we create it, produce it, experience it — and even where we experience it — is changing too.

This November, Sustainable Fashion Fest brings that conversation to Madrid, and LaModaChannel is proud to join the festival as its Official Media Partner, connecting its community of international fashion, creative and retail professionals with one of Spain’s emerging platforms for sustainable fashion and innovation.

From November 12–14, Próxima Estación, in Madrid’s Príncipe Pío area, will become a meeting point for designers, brands, students, industry professionals and fashion lovers, bringing together 21 runway shows, a professional congress, exhibitions, networking and immersive experiences around the future of fashion.

But this is not simply another fashion event.

It is a space where fashion meets technology, circularity, creativity and community.

And that is exactly where LaModaChannel feels at home.

One of the most exciting moments of the festival will be the Hikari Challenge, a live upcycling competition created by Sustainable Fashion Fest and MS–Hikari, with the collaboration of Humana.

Instead of hiding the creative process behind the walls of a traditional atelier, the challenge brings it directly in front of the audience.

Participants will work with industrial sewing machinery and transform existing garments and textiles into new pieces — making the entire process part of the show.

From fabric selection and pattern decisions to construction and finishing, visitors will get a rare look at what actually happens inside the creative process.

This is sustainability beyond the buzzword: real materials, real skills, real people and real-time creativity.

The challenge is open to participants over 18 with experience using industrial flat-bed and overlock machines, including professionals, students and advanced sewing enthusiasts.

Registration is free and remains open until October 16.

The two finalists will present their looks on the Sustainable Fashion Fest runway, with the winner receiving a Hikari H8V sewing machine, while the runner-up will receive a professional sewing kit.

Sustainable Fashion Fest is also looking beyond the physical runway.

Through its collaboration with Omniverse City, the festival is connecting the physical event with immersive digital environments and new ways for audiences to experience fashion.

The collaboration already has a tangible presence through Fuego y Agua, a Fortnite experience recreating Próxima Estación as a virtual destination for fashion, creativity and community.

It is an interesting shift in the way fashion events can exist.

The runway doesn’t necessarily end when the lights go down.

A collection can move from a physical catwalk into a digital world. A brand can connect with an audience thousands of kilometers away. A fashion community can continue the conversation long after the final look leaves the runway.

For a new generation of consumers who naturally move between physical spaces, social platforms, gaming and virtual worlds, this kind of hybrid experience feels increasingly natural.

Across three days, Sustainable Fashion Fest will bring together 21 runway shows, presenting a wide range of creative voices and approaches to sustainable fashion.

The announced lineup includes BBTEILA, Melot Atelier, ONES, Federica Valentini, Atelier Victoria Haute Couture, ADN, Durga, Isabel Fernandes Atelier, Flystyle Tenerife, Hikari, Diana Magesa, KILLALPAQA, INTIARA, MERCATRED, FLOR DEL NILO, TROCHA 1668, KONOKAL, CAMJE, IBEME, Laura Riera and Jorge Terra, alongside an inclusive runway.

The diversity of the lineup reflects something important: there is no single aesthetic, formula or identity defining the future of sustainable fashion.

There are different cultures, techniques, materials, generations and creative perspectives.

And that’s what makes fashion interesting.

The future of fashion also belongs to emerging designers.

Sustainable Fashion Fest will feature a dedicated university runway showcasing the work of 11 designers from UDIT — Universidad de Diseño, Innovación y Tecnología.

For these emerging creatives, the runway becomes more than a presentation. It becomes a bridge between education and the professional industry, giving young designers the opportunity to put their ideas in front of an audience of fashion professionals, brands and creatives.

It is also a reminder that sustainable fashion is not only about changing existing systems.

It is about educating and empowering the people who will build the next ones.

Beyond the runway, the festival will create a professional meeting point for designers, manufacturers, buyers, distributors, brands and other players across the fashion ecosystem.

The congress will explore topics including sustainable fashion, circular economy, innovation, artificial intelligence and digital transformation, opening conversations around how technology can help reshape the way fashion is designed, produced and experienced.

For brands, it is an opportunity to connect.

For designers, a place to be seen.

For professionals, a space to discover new collaborations.

And for fashion lovers, a chance to get closer to the people and processes behind the clothes.

Founded and directed by Leticia Rufin Alonso together with a dedicated team, Sustainable Fashion Fest is building a growing community around sustainable fashion and the people pushing the industry forward.

With events in Madrid and Barcelona, the festival is creating a platform where fashion, sustainability, technology and professional networking can meet under the same roof.

And that mission strongly resonates with LaModaChannel.

For more than a decade, LaModaChannel has explored fashion through film, visual storytelling, interviews, events and international creative communities, connecting brands, designers, retailers and audiences across different markets.

As Official Media Partner, LaModaChannel will be bringing the energy of Sustainable Fashion Fest to its international audience — documenting the people, ideas, collections and conversations shaping this new chapter of fashion.

Because the future of fashion isn’t happening in one city, one runway or one industry.

It’s happening everywhere.

And Madrid is about to have its moment.
