The international judging panel, headed by Franca Sozzani and Raffaello Napoleone, consisted of Antonio Cristaudo (Pitti Immagine), Mario Dell’Oglio (President of the Camera Italiana Buyer Moda), Simonetta Gianfelici (Altaroma), Sara Maino (Vogue.it), Niels Radtke (Hunting and Collecting), Letizia Schatzinger (D la Repubblica), and Dan Thawley (A Magazine Curated by) and the partners Beppe Angiolini (Sugar), Miguel Ares (yoox.com), Luca Giusti (Fashion Valley), Claudio Marenzi (Herno), Stefano Martinetto (Tomorrow Ltd). The judges expressed unanimous satisfaction with the high quality of the entries and for the research content of the finalists’ collections. In addition to the winner and the honorable mention, the finalists were: Traiano (Filippo Colnaghi and Andrea Busnelli) and Tropiano (Selene Tropiano) for prêt-à-porter and for the accessories category, Alan Buanne and Ilariusss (Ilaria Soncini).

The Who is On Next? Uomo prize goes to CARLO VOLPI

A collection that is outstanding for its instinctive energy and creative vitality. A valid offering that impresses with its creativity. The Who is On Next? Uomo honorable mention goes to SOLOVIÈRE

The judging panel found Alexia Aubert and her footwear brand Solovière deserving of honorable mention for her complete and original offering. It is an interesting collection with a focus on fine materials and on the functional role of the accessory. The quality manufacturing, the label’s bold attitude and character that together yield an indisputably contemporary are truly worthy of admiration.

The winner, Carlo Volpi, will receive the Pitti Immagine prizes:

Cash reimbursement for expenses, the production of a presentation-event during the next edition of Pitti Uomo (to be held from 10-13 January 2017) and one year of free tutoring from the new Pitti TUTORSHIP department.

In addition he will get press coverage in L’Uomo Vogue and on the Condé Nast websites. He will also receive prizes from the competition’s four partners:
